Interesting coincidence...Santa brought Maddie this book based on that same song:

The book mercifully includes all of the verses, including the later ones which have a heavy populist message--and not just the first verse which we all learned in grade school, which standing on its own seems rather innocuous, as if Guthrie was just another flag-waving patriot.
